The influence of Al-Wahm(1) on the character of the pregnant woman

The question:

Does Al-Wahm affect the character of the woman and causes her to behave badly with her husband? If this is true, what is the best manner to deal with her? May Allah bless you.

The answer:

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. Peace and blessing be upon whom Allah sent as a mercy to the Worlds, upon his Family, his Companions and his Brothers till the Day of Resurrection.

Know that Al-Wahm in usage is only what the pregnant woman longs for. As for what some people pretend: that if we do not accept her request, a defect will appear on the child’s body, it has no origin in the Sharia. It maybe that the woman needs in that period certain care and tenderness and someone to bring her what she desires, and the husband should take into consideration her state and behave well towards her and avoid to harm her fetus by harming her and wait Allah’s reward Who is the Best to give rewards.

The perfect knowledge belongs to Allah عزَّ وجلَّ. Our last prayer is all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. Peace and blessing be upon our Prophet, his Family, his Companions and Brothers till the Day of Resurrection.
