The ruling regarding making
a pun to obtain a financial compensation 

Question:

Is it permissible to make a pun as regards the identity of those who murdered my father while filling out a form in order to benefit from the compensation granted by the state to the victims of the tragedy? May Allah reward you.

Answer:

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. Peace and blessing be upon whom Allah sent as a mercy to the Worlds, upon his Family, his Companions and his Brothers until the Day of Resurrection:

In fact, the allowance granted to the victims of the tragedy, which the state compensates for the families of the victims, is actually a gift to join people’s hearts together and console them. Therefore, he who has the state’s set conditions for compensation, he deserves to take the compensation irrespective of the characteristics of the victim and who committed the crime, i.e. it is neither necessary to determine the way he was murdered, nor to give a detailed description of the murderers’ identities in order to prove it in the requested form. Yet, it is permissible to prove it by means of the closest way to understanding.

The perfect knowledge belongs to Allah عزَّ وجلَّ; and our last prayer is all the praises and thanks are to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, and prayers of Allah are to Muhammad and his Family, Companions and Brothers until the Day of Resurrection.
